Kolb+Co. History

The firm was founded in 1960 by Bob Kolb and Larry Lauwasser as Kolb Lauwasser & Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The mission of the firm from the start was to provide unparalleled services to privately held companies. Today, this continues to be our mission, and we strive to be our clients’ trusted adviser.

Over the past 50 years, the firm has grown organically and is now the largest, locally owned public accounting and business advisory firm in southeastern Wisconsin with more than 100 employees and 15 shareholders. The firm has also become an integral part of IGAF Polaris, one of the oldest, largest and most well respected accounting associations in the world.

Our services have expanded to meet the ever-changing and growing needs of our clients. Today, clients of Kolb+Co. have access to audit, tax and accounting services, technology services, retirement plan design and administration, financial planning and wealth management, insurance planning, mergers and acquisition services, payroll services and other advisory services.

Our leadership has always been client minded and customer service driven. As we continue to grow and shape the third generation of leaders within our firm, we are proud to say that our passion has not changed.
