Job Description - Analyst

 

Reports to:  Managing Director of M&A Services

 

Essential Functions:  

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Preparation and maintenance of acquisition/valuation models.
  • Market searches for possible acquisition targets.
  • Preparation of confidential offering memorandum and other seller material.
  • Preparation and review of projections
  • Perform due diligence reviews.
  • Preparation of seminar material and presentations.
  • Maintain databases of private equity firms, venture capital firms and other potential buyers and sellers.
  • Participate as a M&A team member in buy-side and sell-side assignments.
  • Collaborate with the Kolb+Co. marketing team to establish strong presence in social media including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts.  Maintain brand voice by conversing with the M&A fan base, moderating conversation and driving traffic to the website.

 

  • Collaborate with the Kolb+Co. marketing team to produce high quality editing content for quarterly, monthly and weekly electronic newsletters including planning, drafting and editing functions.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics is preferred.   Minor in Communications/Marketing is preferred and a plus.  0-3 years of professional experience required.

Language/Communication Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents. 
  • Ability to prepare routine reports and correspondence. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid understanding of writing techniques for a variety of mediums including website copy, blog posts, syndicated articles and press releases.
  • Support a creative team by being able to edit existing copy and create new copy to support internet marketing campaigns.
  • Impeccable grammar and punctuation skills and the ability to translate client wishes to content orders while maintaining high standards for readability and factual correctness; copy editing and proofing will also be required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work with multiple individuals throughout the organization.
  • Ability to communicate with clients and prospects.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, able to research, determine action and implement procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, expert subject matter user of Excel and creative in designing business presentations using Microsoft Power Point.
  • Well-rounded individual who thrives in a fast-paced, demanding environment with the willingness to dig deep into details and has the ability to assess the big picture.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
