November 2011 On October 26, House Ways and Means Committee Chairman, Dave Camp, released a discussion draft of the committee's international tax reform legislation as is part of their comprehensive tax reform. Ultimately, the committee is looking to lower rates for individuals and employers, and move toward a territorial system of taxation that will make the United States a more competitive marketplace in the increasing global economy. In addition, part of the reform focuses on bringing jobs back to the United States and creating a more ideal way for international companies to re-invest in the United States. While still in discussion draft form, this will be the first of three tax-reform packages.
